Martin Luther? Anyone?

Can anyone out there in cyberspace recommend a good bio of Martin Luther? I don't like dry and scholarly texts so can you maybe recommend one that's fun to read? I know that's probably too much to ask but I had to try.

well, i don't know of any non-scholarly books, which i think are fun, but the recently made movie called Luther is really good and as accurate as any movie.

I've seen the movie. It was good.

The most assigned book on Martin Luther in college classes is Here I
Stand, A Life of Martin Luther by Roland Bainton, but I believe it’s a bit tedious. Luther: An Experiment in Biography by H.G. Haile is much more readable. There is a smaller biography that has been recently published that might be good. It's Martin Luther: A Penguin Life (Penguin Lives is a series of biographies of the famous)by Martin Marty. For easy reference to his works, though, you might find Martin Luther: A Guided Tour of His Life and Thought by Stephen J. Nichols useful.

I can highly recommend The Reformation: A History by Diarmaid
MacCullough. It's huge, though.
